Nobel Prize for Attosecond Physics
This year’s Nobel Prize in Physics goes to Pierre Agostini, Ferenc Krausz and Anne L’Huillier – “for experimental methods that generate attosecond pulses of light for the study of electron dynamics in matter”. Congratulations to the three, who of course absolutely deserve this award! It is and remains the highest scientific award in the world, which honors not only the laureates but also the whole field – and is therefore also quite wonderful for our chair, who we are also working in the field of attosecond physics. The scientific justification of this award is worth reading, see here.
